The View or our Scenery...one word...FANTASTIC! Beautiful landscaping on the street side with tall coconut palm trees, Christmas tree palms, birds of paradise, silver buttonwood, and assorted tropical bushes and grasses. A coconut palm tree sounds like a gentle rain shower when you first hear the fronds swaying in the breeze. If you are new to the Florida Keys, you will embrace this sound. Let us know how you find this fun experience. On the street side we have several places to quietly read a book, listen to music, get your suntan, or have a picnic. We have a great deck with table and chairs. Another area closer to the water has chaise lounge chairs to bask in the Florida Keys' sun. Moving closer to The water view. Our sunset celebration...that is when we come out to watch the sunset and relish the gift of another great day in the Florida Keys. So much wildlife to see and memories to make while enjoying our open water views of the Gulf. The birds - great white egrets, great white herons, little green herons, fish hawks, pelicans, kingfishers, terns of all species, the silly cormorant diving to catch a fish and the laughing gulls - we always ask them what is so funny but they never tell! The Florida Keys' has 3 wild bird rescue centers and the closest is located in Marathon, www.marathonwildbirdcenter.org. This center is located at the Crane Point Museum and if you go on the museum's tour you will be able to see up close, several wild bird species. Our dockage which is included in your rental has plenty of structure that holds a remarkable array of fish and other marine life - sea turtles, manatees, lobster (please don't take our lobster at the dock), and tarpon. A boat ramp is within walking distance and can be found at the convenient store located on Conch Key. This store sells assorted fishing tackle, snacks, food and chips. Also, the store sells beer, sodas, ice. Conch Key is a great place to be and the Conch Key Villas is the best place to stay.
